    The Phineas and Ferb-Busters!

Post by Roy42 on Tue Mar 09, 2010 2:18 pm

You know what they say, erm… well, something about teamwork. So Candace is going to enlist Stacy and Jenny in Busting Boot Camp to make sure that the boys' creation is still present, that Mom is on her way and that nothing goes wrong. Phineas and Ferb, meanwhile, are playing Spinning Tops…Of DOOM! Over at DEI, Heinz really needs to learn sensitivity; Just because Norm has a smile on his hulking monstrosity of a mouth doesn't mean he's always so happy. What will happen when his master's life is on the line now?

Off the bat: No bonus points for noticing that Spinning Tops of Doom has been mentioned several times in another Disney show, Kim Possible. The value of pointing it out is as great as pointing out how Avatar and Dances With Wolves struck similar chords. Move on and discuss the actual episode.

    Carry on.

Candace really surprised me here. I mean really, yes, she already wasn't the brightest bulb in the tree nor the most sane, but still. She had a chance, possibly the most perfect chance possible. I mean, sure, she should never be able to bust Phineas and Ferb, but I'm pretty sure that's the worst possible way to avoid it. Any of the small amounts of sympathy I could ever have for her are just gone. She's too pants-on-head stupid to get what she wants.

Overall, besides the ending, I'd say ths was a pretty nice episode. Maybe I'm a sucker for awesome references, but still. That Charlie's Angels homage was just amazingly pulled off. Then of course, Phineas and Ferb had a pretty good idea going with the gigantic spinning tops, but it's sad that Buford had to go ruin it. Those tops were NOT boring.

This one definitely has one of the funniest endings. Mom asks if they want any pie, and everybody says "Me!" or "Us!!" (except Buford, strangely). Notice how Candace doesn't sound as enthusiastic as the rest of them who wanted pie.
